What is GMDSS ? in which SOLAS chap it will come?
GMDSS: GLOBAL MARITIME DISTRESS AND SAFETY SYSTEM
-It will come in solas chap 5 ( Safety of navigation )
-It is located on bridge.
-It is main communication system of ship and all external communication through world is done by GMDSS.
-It can be operated by MASTER and OFFICER in charge.
-There are 3 sets of GMDSS.
By using this we can Mail, Satellite call, etc done.
